does anyone actually prefer the tent scene over the rest of eclipse?

by @beawong · about The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

honestly the chemistry feels way more alive here than in the first two, even if the wig situation is still haunting me. that whole standoff in the mountains is peak chaotic energy for 2010.

That tent scene is honestly the only reason I keep coming back to this one, it just feels so much more grounded than the rest of the high-stakes stuff. You're so right about the wigs though, I try to look away but they're staring right back at me.

The editing in that sequence is actually some of the tightest in the whole series, which is a weird thing to say about a franchise that usually struggles with basic flow. Those transition shots between the snow and their faces really do a lot of the heavy lifting to mask how stagnant the dialogue is.

that snow transition was super slick but honestly i think the dialogue felt stiff because they were setting up that hidden lore connection to the first film. really hope the next one leans into that backstory more instead of just relying on the visuals to keep us interested.
