Did anyone else notice how choppy the archival editing feels here?

The way they splice those grainy home movies together makes the pacing feel kind of frantic, even when the subject matter slows down. I usually love raw footage, but the sound mixing on some of the older interviews made it a struggle to hear what was actually going on.

The audio issues were definitely frustrating, but I think the jagged editing actually mirrors how chaotic and ephemeral that whole scene was. It feels like they were trying to capture the exhaustion of a place that never really slept.

I actually didn't mind the jumpy editing because it kind of felt like being stuck in that sweaty, chaotic basement with everyone else. It definitely made the club feel way more overwhelming and real, even if I had to crank my volume up to catch the stories.
