“I really wanted to love this one because the premise felt so promising but it just ended up being such a confusing mess. Suriya is doing his best with what he has, especially in those more intense, quiet moments, but the story felt like it was pulling in ten different directions at once. By the time the credits rolled I just felt exhausted instead of invested. Honestly a bit of a letdown considering how much potential was there.”

That theory on the Hulk is actually pretty solid, especially since the sound design on his scenes usually emphasizes the disconnect between the two personas. I am more curious if the editing is going to keep that invisible villain completely off-screen for the first half to really lean into the paranoia aspect.

It’s definitely his most iconic, though I think his stillness in something like Private Lives of Pippa Lee hits harder. There’s a coldness to the aesthetic here that really holds up better than the action scenes honestly.

The shift in tone halfway through really kills the momentum, like the script couldn't decide if it wanted to be a grounded character study or something way more frantic. Suriya definitely carries those early scenes where he's just trying to navigate the bureaucracy, but it loses its footing pretty quickly after that.

The pacing in the first hour is a bit of a slog but I honestly didn't mind because the way the town feels increasingly claustrophobic is so well handled. I have mixed feelings about how much they kept hidden, but that final sequence is exactly the kind of cold, jarring resolution I love. It really sticks the landing by not giving you the easy answers you think you want.
