“It manages to make the end of the world feel surprisingly small and petty, which is probably the most honest way to frame that kind of ego.”

I honestly just hope they keep that suit around for more than one scene this time. Seeing how they handle the black texture on screen could be pretty wild if they get the lighting right.

I actually didn't mind the jumpy editing because it kind of felt like being stuck in that sweaty, chaotic basement with everyone else. It definitely made the club feel way more overwhelming and real, even if I had to crank my volume up to catch the stories.

The way the light cuts through that sawmill, all those dust motes dancing in the shafts of sun, is honestly the only thing keeping me interested here. It feels like such a hollow exercise in misery, honestly, and the pacing is just brutal. I wanted to care about the framing of these lonely mountain landscapes, but the characters are so frustratingly opaque that even the prettiest shot couldn't save the experience for me.

Honestly I was so ready to hate this because why touch a classic but the chemistry between the leads actually holds up. The fashion is doing a lot of heavy lifting for the pacing issues in the second act though. If you go in expecting the same vibe as the original you might be disappointed but it definitely feels like a 2026 update. Definitely worth seeing just to see how they handled the modern relationship dynamics.
