The pacing in the first hour is a bit of a slog but I honestly didn't mind because the way the town feels increasingly claustrophobic is so well handled. I have mixed feelings about how much they kept hidden, but that final sequence is exactly the kind of cold, jarring resolution I love. It really sticks the landing by not giving you the easy answers you think you want.

The sound mixing during that first hour actually kept me from getting bored, especially the way they layered the background hum to make the silence feel heavy. I’m still stuck on those quick, jagged cuts in the final act though—really disorienting in the best way.
